In order to save the custom icon you must have a large black & white icon defined. To quickly do so, simply drag from a currently defined icon onto the large 1-bit icon area. (To be safe, you may want to do the same for the small black & white icon.)
Sorry, but Icon7 currently requires the Monitors Control Panel setting to be at 256 colors. This requirement will hopefully be addressed in the near future, but since I thought this program might be useful, I wanted to get it out to Mac users.

Memory is getting low! Try closing some windows and submitting the request again or quitting and increasing Icon7's memory partition (via Get Info ).
